{children} Presley and Miles

Presley and Miles' mom contacted me for their birthday pictures.  Presley turned seven and Miles turned four.  They were quite a pair and so incredibly easy to work with.  When I arrived on location I saw that Miles was dressed in what looked to be a Superman pajama set.  Believe it or not, I was excited.  Because if you have children, especially young children (and boys to boot), you know that it's all about pretend play and dressing up as their favorite superhero.  The funkier, the better.  I love capturing kids in their natural state, and to be honest, this part of the shoot couldn't have been any more natural.  He was so stinkin' cute.  Presley was a different story, but not much different.  As we were waiting for Miles' outfit change we sat on the swing and had a nice chat about life...favorite colors...and barbies.  She told me all about her birthday party and all the presents she received.  We connected.  It was super cute.  When it was time for her to shine, we headed to the river where the Riverstage was located.  Her plan was to get on stage and pretend to be a rockstar.  It was fitting for her age group, but we realized upon arrival that we couldn't get on the stage.  Didn't stop her, though.  She rocked her part of the shoot like it was nobody's business.  She's an amazing little girl and I highly enjoyed our conversation...even if it included barbies.  Great job, kiddos!

{family} Jason, Leslie, Wyatt, Addie and Oliver

I loved this family.  The kids were absolutely adorable, and mom and dad were so sweet and patient with me.  The littlest one, Oliver, was at the age where he would laugh and smile at everything.  He melted my heart the whole way through.  What a good baby they have been blessed with!  Little Addie was such a doll baby.  She really didn't say much, but she was full of energy and ready to take off at a moment's notice.  She loved being free and in front of the camera, you could tell.  We would stop periodically so she could view the pictures on my camera as I was snapping them.  Four-year-old Wyatt was a little quiet himself, but listened and took direction very well.  And, maybe photo bombed every now and then to remind us of his hidden silly personality.  I loved every minute of it.  Such a sweet boy.  Lovely family!  I can't wait to work with them again.

{children} Alayna: Three Months

Oh my goodness, what a little peach. Everything about little Alayna was absolutely perfect. She is at a stage where she smiles often, coos like crazy, and responds to certain voices while taking it all in. She did exactly that and shined like a little star. I will say this, she was one of the most cooperative, happy babies. She hardly ever fussed, and she lasted throughout the entire shoot, being over an hour, without a single break. Thanks for hanging in there, baby girl.

{children} Presley, Brody, Miles and Harper

When shoots are scheduled in advance we have no idea what is in store.  This one was scheduled on a day that was supposed to rain, but somehow we managed to get through most of it without getting drenched.  Luckily we were sheltered when the rain came pouring down.  These kiddos had a blast playing in it, and it was at the end so mom didn't mind "ruining" their picture clothes.  Which, by the way, were adorable.  I loved the bright orange she had picked, and it looked good on them.  I'd say overall, it was a great day for everyone involved, despite the gloomy day.

Aren't they cute?
